The kids and I took a minivacation to visit Emily (one of my closest and dearest friends) and her husband, Andy, in Columbia. We had so much fun! They were such wonderful hosts and we got to see and do so many fun things! On our first afternoon we visited a great little waterpark. It was so stinkin' hot that it was the perfect afternoon activity.
I've been meaning to blog about this for so long that now I don't remember the names of all the places we went...I'll just leave it at we visited this really awesome park and all had a blast. It definitely got the wheels turning in my brain about ways we can spruce up our own backyard. Aren't all of these "monster truck" (the boys' words, not mine) tires so cool? They were definitely the boys favorite part.
Clarey loved swinging.
Levi loved going down the big, big, big tube slide.
Emily took Clarey down the slide.
The monster truck tires were not only fun to climb up, but to climb in - and hide!
Later, we visited Creative Days Art Studio. For a small fee, kids can come in and explore all different kinds of art. It's their choice. Clayton and Levi started out with oil pastels and punches. After some experimentation they started making masks. (Dinosaur masks, of course. Would it have been anything else?)
After much punching and cutting and gluing and yarn tying, they found the glitter. And then there was much more gluing and shaking and sparkles everywhere.
We had fun just hanging out at Emily and Andy's, too. They've got an adorable house and even though they just moved in this spring, you'd think they'd lived there lots longer. It just feels lived in and is all put together. I was so jealous. I wish our house had that feel... I loved their home and look forward to visiting again.
Emily also took us to the library. It is an awesome library. We spent a long time exploring the fabulous children's area. Clarey worked a puzzle...
Clayton listened to lots of stories...
Levi tried to look at a book, but Clarey just wouldn't leave him alone. We had a great trip! Thanks so much Emily and Andy for welcoming us into your home and for the great memories!
