Congratulations Garrett and Anna!!

On August 6, Garrett and Anna got married! Above, Anna is looking fabulous at the rehearsal on Friday night. (I didn't take any pictures...so I got these from Kathy's camera.)

Garrett and Anna - so happy!

Cameron at the rehearsal dinner.

Finally, a picture where Cyle is smiling. I don't remember why we were laughing. I was really sleep deprived that weekend...Obviously we were having a good time. And I had absolutely no alcohol that night.

Look at that handsome little boy! The kids did so well in walking down the aisle.

After Levi was coaxed into it. He was a bit unhappy before the wedding. A big thanks to Ms. Geri for the dinosaurs and Uncle Neal for asking about Levi's birthday. Without those two things there'd have been no Levi in the wedding.

Garrett watches, waiting for Anna.

The Huck Clan!
Clarey in the Cinderella Carriage. Doesn't she look just like a princess? The boys pulled her down the aisle in this gorgeous wagon. Once seeing it, Kathy couldn't resist getting it for the wedding. Everyone loved it.

Grandma Arnold and Grandma Huck at the reception.

And I don't have a picture of just Garrett and Anna, so a picture of Anna and Cameron instead! We all had such a good time! I'll post more pictures once I swipe some from someone else...

Minivacation to Columbia

The kids and I took a minivacation to visit Emily (one of my closest and dearest friends) and her husband, Andy, in Columbia. We had so much fun! They were such wonderful hosts and we got to see and do so many fun things! On our first afternoon we visited a great little waterpark. It was so stinkin' hot that it was the perfect afternoon activity.

I've been meaning to blog about this for so long that now I don't remember the names of all the places we went...I'll just leave it at we visited this really awesome park and all had a blast. It definitely got the wheels turning in my brain about ways we can spruce up our own backyard. Aren't all of these "monster truck" (the boys' words, not mine) tires so cool? They were definitely the boys favorite part.

Clarey loved swinging.

Levi loved going down the big, big, big tube slide.

Emily took Clarey down the slide.

The monster truck tires were not only fun to climb up, but to climb in - and hide!

Later, we visited Creative Days Art Studio. For a small fee, kids can come in and explore all different kinds of art. It's their choice. Clayton and Levi started out with oil pastels and punches. After some experimentation they started making masks. (Dinosaur masks, of course. Would it have been anything else?)

After much punching and cutting and gluing and yarn tying, they found the glitter. And then there was much more gluing and shaking and sparkles everywhere.

We had fun just hanging out at Emily and Andy's, too. They've got an adorable house and even though they just moved in this spring, you'd think they'd lived there lots longer. It just feels lived in and is all put together. I was so jealous. I wish our house had that feel... I loved their home and look forward to visiting again.

Emily also took us to the library. It is an awesome library. We spent a long time exploring the fabulous children's area. Clarey worked a puzzle...

Clayton listened to lots of stories...

Levi tried to look at a book, but Clarey just wouldn't leave him alone. We had a great trip! Thanks so much Emily and Andy for welcoming us into your home and for the great memories!

Washington or Bust!

In July, my stepbrother moved to Washington state where Courtney, his girlfriend, is starting graduate school. We caught up with them briefly in mid-July. Good luck! We love you!

June 2011: Happy 91st Birthday, Grandma! and Mastadon State Park

For the past two years, I've been editing a cookbook of my Grandma Grossheider's best recipes. I really wanted it done for her 90th birthday last year, but just didn't pull it off. I was really excited to be able to give it to her for her 91st birthday this year.

The kids and I went to lunch with my dad, Aunt Corliss and Grandma to celebrate her birthday.

We also visited Mastadon State Park with my dear friend Catie. My boys have this thing with the prehistoric eras... We visited the museum and took a short hike around the park before the torrential downpour ended our lunch early. It was so nice to see Catie. She's so helpful with the kids that we all have a great time!

Clarey didn't love the museum so much. She's not so into old bones...
